Surftron's new unique features can change the way you use the internet. One-Touch Surfing, Smart Marks and Site Sharing are three very powerful new concepts. Understanding how each of them can help are the first step in learning to harness the power of Surftron. Once you understand these new concepts then look at the Step-By-Step Configuration page for help in setting up these features.
One-Touch Surfing allows you to do all your web surfing by touching one function key. Used in conjunction with Surftron's Smart Marks, you can read your email and visit all your favorite sites, only if they've changed, with one touch. When there are no more websites to visit, Surftron can be configured to then hide or quit your browser. When email accounts or websites are visited which contain a Keyword, Surftron can be configured to play a special sound to let you know.

On Mac OS X the One-Touch key is defined in the Preferences. On OS 9 the One-Touch feature is configured using the Hot Function Key. The easiest method is to set the standard Keyboard control panel Function Keys setting to launch Surftron. When this option is selected in Preferences, each time Surftron is relaunched, it will automatically instruct your default web browser to visit the next changed site. One-Touch Surfing is also scriptable so it is also easily usable by other utilities like AppleScript or QuickKeys. Step-By-Step configuration.

Smart Marks make Surftron more useful than any other bookmark application. Using Smart Marks you can always know when you have email and when your favorite sites have new content from when you visited them last. You will no longer need to always run your email client or wonder if your favorite sites have been updated. If you have new email or your favorite websites have something new, Surftron will let you know and if they contain a Keyword from your Keyword List, it can play a special sound to let you know.

All sites added using Site Sharing are automatically Smart Marks. Most manually added new sites can be configured using the Auto Setup feature, but some sites will require advanced techniques found on the Advanced configuration help page. As sites are updated, the newest Smart Marks settings can be updated by other Surftron users using the Site Sharing tools described below. Step-By-Step configuration.

Site Sharing is a new concept in web surfing. It allows you to share bookmarks with other Surftron users on the web, as well as use bookmarks that others have shared. The best thing about using sites shared by other Surftron users is they are all Smart Marks, already configured to automatically detect changes in site content.

Studiotron maintains a database of sites which are submitted by other Surftron users. Any other Surftron user can access this database using the Site Sharing commands in Surftron and add new sites to their list. Step-By-Step configuration.
